Driving Directions from Anchorage to the Talkeetna River Boat Launch
Leave Anchorage heading North on Glenn Highway(SR-1). Travel approximately 35 miles where you will come to the junction of the George Parks Highwayand Glenn Highway. Stay to the LEFT on the George Parks Highway(SR-3) and go over the new overpass. It will take you straight through Wasilla and head you toward Denali and Fairbanks. Do not take any exits.
Continue through Wasilla on the George Parks Highway. Go through the towns of Houston and Willow. Continue on the George Parks Highway to approximately Mile Marker 99. You will come to a Green sign on the RIGHT hand side of the road that says “Talkeetna”. You will see a visitor center on your RIGHT with a statue of a bear out in front. Turn RIGHT onto “Talkeetna Road” at this intersection.
Continue on “Talkeetna Road” for approximately 14 miles. You will come to a sign on your RIGHT that says “Airport”. Turn RIGHT. Cross the railroad tracks and turn LEFT. Follow this road for approximately ¼ of a mile. You will pass the Swiss-Alaska Inn (On your LEFT). As soon as you pass the Swiss-Alaska Inn turn LEFT into the park. Go all the way in and go to the middle boat launch nearest the restrooms. If you are going on the afternoon charter and we are not there yet, we are on our way back in from the morning charter and will be there shortly.
*You will need to bring along your fishing license, (and King Salmon Stamp IF you are fishing before July 14th) and lunch or snack. We will provide the rest!
